Yuck: Athletes Purchase Breast Milk For $2.50

Culled From EurWeb
Some athletes are turning to an alternative liquid other than energy drinks.
They’re relying on human breast milk for boosting energy and overall health.
Only the Breast and Human Milk 4 Human Babies are two sites where a number of athletes buy the milk for $2.50 an ounce.
Anthony, a 30-something-year-old from Queens, New York told NYMag.com there are “a lot of guys’ at different gyms who consume ‘the good stuff.”
And he doesn’t care about what the critics who thinks he’s weird have to say.
“I don’t believe in steroids or other energy supplements, none of that garbage,” he said. “I want natural stuff that’s God-given, and if it’s okay with moms looking to get rid of [the breast milk], I’ll take it.”
He’s among many athletic men who feel drinking breast milk makes them feel healthier.
David from Brooklyn started drinking breast milk three years ago to rid him of nausea caused by chemotherapy.
And another man, Jason Nash, tried breast milk when him and his wife welcomed their first child, and he feels it prevents illness

APC/PDP: Oshiomole's Private Jet Banned From Leaving Benin For Akure Or Ekiti

Commander of the 81 Air Maritime Group, Benin City, Air Commodore Soji Awomodu told the Governor that he received “a call from above” that no private jet or helicopter be allowed to fly out of Benin City to either Akure or Ekiti.

The Governor who was billed to attend a mass rally organized to round-off the re-election campaigns of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, was left stranded at the Benin Airport for two hours before Air Commodore Awomodu delivered the message “from above”.

A source at the 81 Air Maritime Group who declined mention however said it was purely a military affair.

Oshiomhole expressed shock at the development as other APC Governors and party leaders were allowed to fly to Ekiti. He however declined to speak with reporters.

Governor Amechi's Arrest: Rivers State Government Releases Statement.

The Rivers State Government is concerned about the safety of Governor Amaechi who is right now being held hostage commando style by soldiers and federal government security agents in Odudu, Ondo state.
Governor Amaechi as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ forum and as an APC governor and chieftain had left Port Harcourt this morning for Ekiti state where he was to join his brother governor in his last mega rally before the elections.

Governor Amaechi was ambushed and refused entry into Ekiti by military personnel acting on orders from above. He made to turn back and return to Akure where his chattered aircraft was parked but was chased and rounded by armed soldiers and security personnel in Odudu, Ondo state. According to the captain who led the operation, he had orders not to allow the governor entry or exit.
In the meantime, the chattered aircraft that conveyed he governor has been grounded while the ministers of Defence, police Affairs and Minister of state for Defence have landed the Akure airport.

The Rivers State government is especially worried that Federal government and President Jonathan have singled out Governor Amaechi for harassment and attack.
While we hold the person and office of the President in utmost regards, we believe that it is unacceptable that the presidency would disrespect the person and office of an elected governor of a federating unit and consistently hound him.

The Rivers state government is all more worried as Ondo saga is coming on the heels of a plot by six PDP lawmakers this morning to carry out a kangaroo impeachment of the duly elected governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, con first at Krisdara hotels and later Bauchi street, Port Harcourt.
Ordinarily such banality should be ignored as it neither is legal nor constitutional. However in the light of the recent attempts to hoist a Chief Judge on Rivers people through the back door and the attendant rumours that the reason for that desperate act was to make it easier for the PDP to actualize its sinister daydream of ousting Governor Amaechi before May 29, 2015, we believe that it has become necessary to draw the attention of Rivers people, Nigerians and the international community to the situation in Rivers State.

Only yesterday, in preparation for this tragicomedy, the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused Governor Amaechi of importing terrorists into the state and the region. They continued their diatribe by demanding that the governor of Rivers State be put under surveillance. The State Government wouldn't have dignified the PDP’s display of ignorance with a response but for the fact that these accusations coupled with today’s actions are omniuos signs of how far the PDP is willing to go in its quest to cling onto power by all means.

The antecedents of impunity on the part of the leadership of the PDP are instructive and the party’s desperation to harm and stop anyone they perceive as major threat to their crumpling electoral fortunes next year is no longer news. The detention attempt and incident at the Kano International Airport last week are still fresh in the minds of Nigerians. Also, the call to put Gov Amaechi under surveillance (or is it house arrest?) on the same day that PDP started effort to unseat the Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency, Murtala Nyako, is enough indication of the script already written by a jittery PDP

It is sad that the insane minds of the authors of the PDP accusation are jeopardizing police investigations of the 486 travellers who were intercepted in Aba, Abia State, and who are still being screened. One only wishes that the PDP would address the issues of the insecurity in the country with as much fervor and vigour as it deploys towards witch hunting its political opponents

The River Government wishes to state that the world knows those who feather the nest of cultists and militants and for whom they are canon fodder. Governor Amaechi’s position on cultisim, violence and insecurity are clear as is his commitment to fighting poverty and improving the lives of our present and future generations.
The Rivers State Government will not be deterred in its efforts to deliver good governance and ddemocratic dividends to our people.

We appeal to all Rivers people appeals to all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and citizens in the state to remain calm in the face of these provocation.

We call on the Security Agencies to exhibit professionalism in their conduct of affairs. We appeal to all well meaning people in Nigeria and around the world to please call the PDP to order before they truncate our democracy.

It appears to us that the PDP clearly have no interest in the peace and stability either Rivers state.
We are mindful of these mischievous elements but continue to call for tolerance and eternal vigilance. We are certain that the God who reigns in the affairs of Rivers people will again deliver us from this evil and terror that stalks us at noon day

British Govt seeks closer trade ties with Edo

The Deputy High Commissioner of the British High Commission in Nigeria, Mr Peter Carter, says his Government will look at the opportunities which abound in Edo State with a view to attracting investors to the state.

Speaking yesterday during a meeting with Governor Adams Oshiomhole in his office in Benin City, Mr Carter said: “I believe that there are good opportunities for British Companies most of which are keen to do business in Nigeria.

He said “we would like to explore with you how we can develop skills, how we can support and help you build up your human capital in a way that would bring credit to the economy of the state.

“In my office in Lagos, we have the Nigeria based investment office. The job is to encourage export and investments into Nigeria and there are a number of areas in the economy we would like to develop.

“We will encourage them to look beyond Lagos to other states in the South. We are keen to work with you in identifying trade investment opportunities which we think British Companies will be keen on taking advantage of.

He said the British Council has been active in retraining of teachers in a number of states, including Edo, adding that developing skills is a good way of developing the human capital.

In his response, Governor Oshiomhole identified poor power supply and lack of productive base as an impediment to the technological development of the country.

Oshiomhole said Nigeria must diversify her economy, saying given the rate of the population “it simply makes sense to think of a world without oil.

“I think it is clear to us and arguably that there is need to plan for the future. We are losing almost 40% of our oil production to theft and the revenue accruing to Edo State, just like other states, has fallen by about 35% even though oil is performing well in the international market. All of that is explained away by alleged oil theft.

“We have not always depended on oil, in fact, the old Midwestern Region, a lot of the land mark we can point to were not a result of revenue from oil, they were the result of the revenue from agriculture and some attempt to do some semi-processing to add some value.

“We don’t need to reinvent the wheel, it is just to return to where we are coming from. A country that relies on production and the value of job creation dictates that we must produce and develop our service sector and empower our people to be entrepreneurs in some scale businesses.

“For me the real impediment to diversifying the Nigerian economy and getting people to work and create an enabling environment  for wealth creation and using the instrument of state to redistribute the wealth is basically power supply.

“I do not see what anybody will be able to do without sustainable power supply. Unfortunately as much as the federal government has tried to privatize the sector, they still have more unfair  control of the sector. I can decide to locate an independent power plant in the state, we are very well located but under the present laws, you are obliged to serve the monopoly called the federal government or sell your output to the national grid as it is not a competitive market”, he

Oshiomhole mourns Dora Akunyili

Adams Oshiomhole has described the late Professor Dora Akunyili, one-time Minister of Information and Director-General of NAFDAC, as a true Amazon who left her imprints in the sands of time.

In a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, Oshiomhole said: “Professor Dora Akunyili was a true patriot who put the country’s interest above her personal comforts as she displayed extreme courage, discipline, honesty and incorruptibility as Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

“She displayed an uncommon trait when she returned an unspent medical allowance to the coffers of the Petroleum Trust Fund as South-East Zonal Secretary of the Fund, an act which stood her out in and earned her elevation to the exalted position of Director-General of NAFDAC.

“A true Amazon, Dora Akunyili put her life on the line in her efforts to sanitise and salvage the nation’s drug industry and earned the ire of fake drugs’ importers who almost snuffed the life out of her in a desperate bid to continue in their nefarious and unwholesome business.

“Even as she battled with ill-health, she ignored her personal discomforts as she was keen to contribute her quota to the national discourse as a member of the ongoing National Conference.

“Dora’s sense of patriotism and commitment to the unity of the country defined her engagements through her trajectory in public service.

I pray God to grant her family the fortitude to bear this great loss and grant the departed eternal

BIAFRANS PROTEST IN LONDON

Splash FM Fires One Of Their Best Broadcasters, On The Request Of The Oyo State Governor

Noted broadcaster, Edmund Obilo, had just aired an interview that exposed how the Alafin of Oyo, and the Oyo State governor, had allegedly been sharing the money belonging to the state, under the guise of fake contracts. A Nigerian House of representatives member, Kamil Akinlabi reveals this secret on “bull’s eye,” a popular radio interview program, anchored by Mr. Obilo.
The management of the Ibadan-based Splash FM, had shortly afterwards fired one of their best broadcasters, Mr. Edmund Obilo, on Friday on the request of the Oyo State governor, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi.
Mr. Obilo has been consistently exposing corruption, and the failure of leadership to stop, or investigate that corruption in Oyo State, under the present administration. This has made Mr. Ajimobi and his cronies to force the owner of the FM Station, Chief Adebayo Akande, to fire Mr. Obilo
In one instance, the governor had once threatened to pull down the broadcasting mast of the radio station two years ago, but could not achieve its aim due of the quick intervention of the saharareporters.com.
Mr. Obilo had anchored different programs, such as “VOICES,” "Bull’s Eye," and "Economic Search Light." These were noted platforms where activists and ordinary citizens are invited to express their views and opinions on national questions.
Recently, Mr, Obilo draw an ire of the governor after the interview that linked him and his wife to Mr. Mukaila aka Auxiliary, a notorious National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) thug who is currently standing trial for murder and gun running.
In addition, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Finance recently claims Oyo State government received the huge sum of 100 billion naira in 2013 of which there is no project in Oyo State to justify the amount received.
Today, Oyo State is broke, to the extent that the government cannot afford to pay worker salaries on time. Mr. Ajimobi had been fingered in many shady deals, including a private refineries built in Lebanon with stolen funds.

Lawmakers got N50m each to defect, says Oshiomhole

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State says some members of the State House of Assembly who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got N50 million each to sell out.
Oshiomhole who disclosed this Monday when he addressed different sets of youths on peaceful protest to the Government House however said government was undisturbed with the shenanigans of the defected lawmakers.
He said “I thank you for recognizing that we all went round to campaign for these people who have decided to sell their mandate for naira and kobo. What is sickening is that they are young men who should be anxious to break from the past.
“However because they believed they do not have any chance of being re-elected in February next year, because they have either done two terms or because of their poor performance, they know their constituency will not re-nominate them, they now decided to benefit from the desperation in different parts of the country to sell their mandate for N50 million each, collect advance payment of thirty-five million. When I read this in the newspapers, initially, I didn’t believe. But going round, people tell me they are buying new vehicles, others are rebuilding their hotels. Suddenly money is flowing.
“Obviously, I think it is important that if democracy is going to survive, each promise must be kept because in the last election, I had to go and do a television advert when the PDP people said this election is not Oshiomhole’s election, therefore vote for individual candidates, I went on television to say that a vote for these House of Assembly members is a vote for Adams Oshiomhole.
“I had to do that because Edo people were not going to accept some of these people and I had to remind them that if they do not vote for them they would create problems for me.
Now the vultures have come and they are offering money and people are collecting money and making all kind of excuses.”
The Governor declared “as far as I am concerned, there is no cause for alarm.  A lot of these people cannot win election on their own merit in their own booth.
They were voted for as ACN with the broom. If you were vote for as ACN, with the broom, how can you now go and replace it with an umbrella that is torn and abandoned.
“People with little mind will think that they can sell their constituents with thirty-five million or fifty million depending on when they will get their balance and with  time more truth will be revealed and when it is revealed a lot of these people will not be able to walk through the streets of Oredo and Ikpoba Okha.
“Those who voted some of them do not have a thousand naira but those they have voted for have chosen to sell it for a huge sum. As far as I am concerned, we are stronger. Edo politics will be cleaned up and the cleaning is already here”, he said.
Oshiomhole said government is committed to doing those  things that will bring joy to the people, adding “we  are committed to building more schools and roads”.
Earlier, the spokesman of the group, Mr. Emma Yamah said they were in Government House to assure the governor of their support and decried the four legislators who rode on the governors back to get elected but only to now defect to the opposition party.
He said the youths were going to demand their mandates from the lawmakers who defected saying the mandate did not belong to the defected lawmakers, but to the people.

Boko Haram turns abducted girls to sex slaves

Boko Haram insurgents have turned the abducted Chibok schoolgirls into sex slaves, raping them 15 times a day, one of the victims that escaped has said.
abducted-girls
In an interview published in the UK newspaper, Mirror on Saturday, the girl said she was prized as a terror leader’s wife because she had been a virgin. She said young female captives were forced to convert to Islam and had their throats cut if they refused.
Meanwhile, Lagos lawyer and human right activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has attributed his rejection of membership of the Presidential Fact Finding Committee on the abducted schoolgirls to his plan to represent some concerned Nigerians and parents of the kidnapped girls in court.
A girl called Rehab, 17, who also escaped from the sect, told how she jumped from a truck with schoolmate, Comfort, 15, as they were driven into the forest.
She said: “We summoned up some courage and grabbed some of the branches and clung on to them while the truck moved on with the other girls.
“We jumped down and began to run into the darkness. Comfort and I went in the same direction, but four other girls took the path back to a village. We didn’t know where we were but we kept running.”
Malam Ali Iliya, father of another schoolgirl who escaped, said: “My daughter said when the trailer got stuck, some of the girls began to jump out and run for their lives and she followed suit. We are lucky our children were not shot.”
Gordon Brown’s arrival
Describing the kidnap of 329 schoolgirls’ as one of the worst mass kidnappings in modern history, the Mirror said the Nigerian government appears to have done little and that former UK’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown is coming to the country tomorrow in his role as the UN’s Special Adviser on girls’ education to secure the pupils’ release.
But with stories of many already trafficked into neighbouring Chad and Cameroon for just 2,000 naira (£7.50), campaigners fear that without urgent action they will never be seen again, the report said.
As he gets ready for his difficult mission to Nigeria on Tuesday, Gordon Brown said: “Abducting children is a heinous crime that the international authorities are determined to punish.”

Malala, Baobab
Meanwhile, Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani girl, who survived being shot by the Taliban after she spoke up for female education, has also demanded action.
She said: “The world should put all hands on deck to rescue the innocent girls from Boko Haram sect. Islam accepts female education and any person that is against that is not a true Muslim.”
Mma Odi, Executive Director of the Nigerian charity Baobab Women’s Human Rights, said: “It is a very bad situation for those girls.
“The men went to the school for no other reason than to make them their sex objects. The men will have reduced them to sex slaves, raping them over and over again. And any girl who tries to resist will be shot. They have no conscience.
“The conditions will be terrible and it seems like the government has just abandoned them because they are girls and they are poor. If they were the sons of the rich, the government would act.

9 Fulani herdsmen gang-rape 15-yr-old girl, 2 housewives

No fewer than nine suspected Fulani herdsmen, yesterday, allegedly gang-raped a 15-year-old girl and two housewives (names withheld) at gunpoint, in Tse Ikyuer, Yandev, Mbagwen in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Two of the victims, who narrated their ordeal to Vanguard in Makurdi, the state capital, said after beating and raping them, the herdsmen also made away with their N60,000 and two phones.
According to the women, who could barely walk, “one of us (the teenage girl) was raped repeatedly, after being thoroughly beaten by the herdsmen. At the moment, she is neither able to walk nor talk.”
Before they were taken to an undisclosed hospital in Makurdi for medical attention by the Police, the women, who spoke at intervals, said: “The men with their leader came to our home in the afternoon and pleaded that we give them water to drink.
“We obliged them, but they noticed the absence of our husbands, and when their leader asked of our husband’s whereabouts, we innocently told him that they travelled but would be back much later.
“After drinking the water, they left, only for about nine of them to come back later in the day, armed with guns and machetes and asked us to lie down and have sex with them or they will kill everybody.”
The women who wept profusely, explained that four of the armed herdsmen fired shots in the air to terrify and also compel them to submit to their demands.
She said: “After defiling us, they beat us mercilessly and collected over N60,000 from us and also took away our handsets.”
The women said that the leader of the gang was well known in the community but he fled from the area with his family and cattle shortly after the incident.
Vanguard gathered from a Police source that one of the suspects had been arrested while the hunt for the leader of the gang and seven others had begun.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent (SP) Daniel Ezeala, who confirmed the incident, said investigations into the matter had commenced.

Body Of High School Student Omotayo Adeoye Found By Police In New York’s Hudson River

Omotayo Adeoye was a brilliant student who attends one of New York City’s elite schools, the high school of Math, Science and Engineering in Manhattan. Sadly, her body was found floating in the Hudson River just a week short of a citywide police search for her.

Adeoye, 17, had committed suicide on May 29th by jumping off into the Hudson River near the George Washington Bridge Thursday afternoon. It came after the young student had been caught cheating on a difficult German Language exam by her teacher, Eva Malikova, at the elite school. Humiliated in front of her classmates, Adeoye immediately left the school building, but not before leaving behind a suicide note.

The short note, later found by school officials and police read, “I just want to go away forever on the bottom of the river.”
The suicide, say police, occurred that Thursday Afternoon at about 3:30pm New York time.  Eyewitnesses told police that Adeoye was seen jumping into the Hudson River shortly thereafter. She was swept away by the currents shortly afterwards as fisherman on the bank of the river watch helplessly.

For nearly a week police listed Adeoye as “missing,” and proceeded that way after hearing numerous tips from witnesses who said that they had spotted the teenager swimming, and even laying on the New York banks of the river days later. Those sightings later proved to be unfounded.

Omotayo Adeoye’s body was found on the morning of June the 3rd, at 9:30am, floating not very far from where she jumped in New York’s Washington Heights district. The police department’s Harbor Unit at 170th Street and Riverside Drive fished her out of the water.

Police say the teenager was “unresponsive,” but they moved her southward to Harlem’s 125th Street Pier, where the Emergency Medical Service officials declared Adeoye dead at the scene.

FATHER BATTERS DAUGHTER AND TEEN BOYFRIEND, FOR HAVING A SHOWER TOGETHER

A man ended up behind bars after catching a teen showering with his daughter, police in Georgia said.

Athens Police said that they arrested the 49-year-old father of the girl on Tuesday, on charges of assault and cruelty to children after he allegedly beat the teen for showering with his daughter.

The incident began when police responded to a call from Clinton Antonio Ward, who said that he caught a teen inside his apartment.

When officers arrived, they spoke to Ward outside of the home, but when they entered, the saw Ward’s 16-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend.

Ward told police that when he came home and sat down on his couch he heard his daughter talking in the bathroom, and at first he thought she was on the phone. However, suddenly, he heard a man’s voice.

After a few minutes, Ward’s daughter came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel while her boyfriend came out naked. That is when Ward began cursing and yelling at the two teens.

The two teens quickly ran into a bedroom, and as the boy was picking up his clothes, Ward pushed him against a wall, and punched him in the chest and face. The girl said that she was also hit in the face.

Police arrested Ward, and charged him with battery and cruelty to children.

FINALLY WE GET THE SPONSORS OF BOKO HARAM!!-

A leading newspaper reports that 10 generals and five other senior military officers were found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram extremists.

The defence ministry last week denied that senior military officers are being investigated for sabotaging a year-old offensive to curb an uprising that has killed thousands.

Boko Haram on 14 April abducted more than 200 schoolgirls, spurring international outrage. At least 272 remain captive.

Leadership newspaper quoted military officers saying the 15 are among many more being tried at divisional level.

The officers spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to give information to reporters.

Why cant we have a president this cute, asEgypt's former military chief sworn in as President for a four-year term

Why cant we have a president this cute in Nigeria?

Egypt's former military chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was sworn in Sunday after he won 96% of the vote in last month's presidential election.

El-Sisi takes the oath of office for a four-year term.

After the ceremony in front of the Supreme Constitutional Court's General Assembly in Cairo, he will get a 21-gun salute followed by the national anthem.

El-Sisi was officially declared the winner of the presidential election last week, prompting a boisterous celebration in Cairo's Tahrir Square.

Fireworks erupted as vendors sold Egyptian flags and balloons marked with his face. Military and security personnel watched from the edges as crowds danced and sang.

The United States said it was looking forward to working with el-Sisi "to advance our strategic partnership and the many interests shared by the United States and Egypt," the White House press secretary said in a statement last week.

The election was called amid months of political turbulence that saw Mohamed Morsy -- the country's first democratically elected President after the ouster of longtime leader Hosni Mubarak -- removed from power in a July military coup.

El-Sisi, who was army chief at the time, stepped down from his military post this year to run for President.

The White House said while it is pleased that international observers were allowed to participate in the election, "we also share concerns raised by observation groups about the restrictive political environment in which this election took place."

IS EDUCATION THE PROBLEM OF ISLAMISTS?-AS IRAQI MILITANTS HOLD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS HOSTAGE

Iraqi flag.
IRAQI FLAG

Gunmen have stormed a university in the restive Anbar province west of Baghdad and are holding dozens of students hostage, Iraqi officials said on Saturday.

Police and army officials say the attack took place on Saturday morning when gunmen stormed Anbar University near the provincial capital Ramadi, parts of which have been held by Islamic extremists and other anti-government militants for months. The gunmen have detained dozens of students inside the university dormitory, they said.
The gunmen killed three police guards who tried to stop them at the university gate, the officials said, adding that security forces have arrived at the scene and sealed off the area. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to speak to the media.
Ahmed al-Mehamdi, a student who was taken hostage, said he awoke to the crackle of gunfire, looked out the window and saw armed men dressed in black racing across the campus. Minutes later, the gunmen entered the dormitory and ordered everybody to stay in their rooms.
"The gunmen took some students to other university buildings. For the rest of us, we are still trapped in our rooms and everybody is in panic, especially the Shi'ite students," al-Mehamdi told The Associated Press in a phone interview from inside the dormitory.
An al-Qaeda splinter group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and other Sunni-led militants have controlled parts of Anbar province, including the city of Fallujah and parts of Ramadi, since late December.
Iraq is currently grappling with its worst surge in violence since the sectarian blood-letting of 2006 and 2007, when the country was pushed to the brink of civil war despite the presence of tens of thousands of US troops.
The latest violence has been fuelled by Sunni Muslim anger at the Shiite-led government in Baghdad, as well as the civil war in neighbouring Syria. ISIL has carried out scores of deadly attacks on both sides of the border and imposed a brutal form of Islamic rule in territories under its control.

It was not immediately clear if ISIL was behind the university attack.
