Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau has condemned Saturday’s bomb blast that that occurred along Bauchi Road in Jos.
The blast, third of its type in Jos within four days, exploded near a football viewing centre, killing three people and injuring three others, according to Capt. Ike Iweha, spokesperson of the Special Task Force on Security (STF) in the state.
In his reaction, Jang, in a statement issued on his behalf by his Director of Press Affairs, James Mannock, urged the people to “remain courageous and have faith that the war on terrorism will be won”
He regretted that the attack, coming few days after a deadly one in Terminus Market,Jos, was aimed at disrupting the peace and normalcy that had returned to the state.
Jang sympathized with the victims of the recent blast and appealed to security agencies to ensure that sponsors were brought to book.
Similarly, the Plateau Commissioner of Information, Olivia Dazyam, has described the latest incident as "very unfortunate", coming when the state was still counting huge losses from Tuesday’s blasts.
She urged Nigerians to remain focused in their determination to ensure that the country remained a strong and indivisible entity, adding that evil forces bent on destroying Nigerian, must be resisted and defeated.
Dazyam promised that the state government would settle the medical bills of all the victims of the blast.
The commissioner then advised members of the public, to be very vigilant and report any suspicious objects or movements to security agents.
