Royal fathers in Edo South Senatorial District have taken a swipe at Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu for decamping from the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his motives are selfish and he is singing the same old song
The Enigie, numbering over sixty who paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, yesterday said they are happy with the development strides of the Governor, especially in Edo South and have absolute confidence in his government.
Chairman of the Enigie, HRH Edomwonyi Iduozee Ogiegbaen, Enogie of Egbaen-Siluko and five other royal fathers spoke on behalf of the Enigies.
According to HRH Osazuwa Idurase, Enogie of Eyaen, the reasons given by Ize-Iyamu for defection are selfish and not in the interest of the people of the state.
He said: “the defectors said they defected because the Governor did not supervise the conduct of your party congresses in a democratic manner, so we are glad that was the only thing they said. They did not say it was because of bad governance or because of the bad thing you did to the Benin people.
“It is pathetic and shameful because that was the same reason they gave when they left the PDP just a few years ago. They said the powers-that-be of the party deregistered them and did not conduct the party congresses in a true democratic process. They are singing the same old song.
