History was made when our Under-17 national team defeated Mexico 3-0 and won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirate.
Our Golden Eaglets became the first country to win the FIFA Under-17 World Cup for the fourth time.
Since we had previously won in 1985, 1993 and 2007.
The match went down on Friday 8th November 2013 at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
It was the impressive play on Nigerian side which led to an early goal inspired by the tireless player, Musa Yahaha. Another Nigerian prolific attacker,
Kelechi Iheanacho scored a second goal in the 56 minute while a third
goal came off the feet of Musa Muhammed through a powerful free kick at
the 81 minute.

The Golden Ball for best player by
The Silver Boot for being the second highest goal scorer was also won by Kelechi Iheanacho.
Dele Alampasu won the Golden Glove for being the best goal keeper in the tournament.
Nigeria has also set the record
for highest goals scored by a team in the U-17 World Cup, scoring an all
