Former ASUU president killed in Car crash yesterday & Patrick Obahiagbon Mourns
Former President of ASUU, Dr. Festus Iyayi, was killed Yesterday afternoon in a car crash at Lokoja, on his way to Kano state for a meeting with the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU, where the union is expected to call off its four month old strike.
It was reported that the convoy of the Governor of Kogi State Mr Idris Wada rammed into the car conveying Dr Festus and some other members of the Union.
I guess students and co-lecturers, would be taking a minute of silence to mourn the passing away of Mr Festus Iyayi at this critical time.......
Meanwhile Patrick Obahiagbon mourns in his own way:
The grand initiation of Professor Festus Iyayi is a lancinating loss of another stentorian voice, against retrograde and prebendal forces of primitive mercantilism. That he passed through transition on matters pro bono publico, bears eloquent testimony to our state of dystopia. Such is the evanescence of life. Its all vanitas vanitatum.
Everybody has a different way of morning.
